2023 Leander ISD State of the District

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023 Superintendent Dr. Bruce Gearing and 2019 Vista Ridge graduate, Amod Daherker, presented the accomplishments of Leander ISD with the participation of students, backed by more than 230 community members, business partners, elected officials, and district leaders. State of the District is hosted by the Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) in collaboration with Leander ISD, as well as the Leander, Cedar Park, and West Austin Chambers of Commerce. The event was made possible by our sponsors: RBFCU, HKS, CDW-G, Hunton Andrews Kurth, Piper Sandler, Pedernales, Altrua Health, and PKA.

The thriving environment of Leander ISD owes its success to the valuable contributions of time, talent, funding, and resources from the community, staff, and families. During the event, LISD counselor Ashlee Pope highlighted the impact of a LEEF grant, which facilitated the launch of the Achieving Community Culture through Empowerment, Support, and Self-Advocacy (ACCESS) program at Glenn and Vandegrift High Schools. This program has achieved significant success over the past two years and is now being expanded to all LISD high schools.

Jacob Warren, a recent graduate from Vista Ridge, shared his personal journey and expressed gratitude for the support he received from Leander ISD and Ms. Geiger, the Transition Coordinator for Special Needs at Leander ISD. Thanks to LEEF’s funding, various projects have been implemented to assist Transition Planning students.

To sustain LEEF’s efforts in funding programs and resources for students and staff, individuals can become monthly donors by signing up on LEEF’s website. Below is a comprehensive list of participating students and the projects showcased at the State of the District event:
