To start the school year on a high note, members of the LEEF Board of Directors, LISD administrators and Superintendent Bret Champion made surprise visits to award four Innovative Teaching Mini-Grants and two Collaborative Innovation grants on September 6. The “grant patrol” congratulated recipients in front of their peers and students with an oversized check, balloons and cupcakes.

In total, the Foundation awarded $6,454 in grants that will benefit some 5,000 LISD students this year. This brings the grant total awarded during the 2012-13 school year to 30 grants, in the amount of $17,000, impacting more than 10,800 LISD students.

Congratulations to our newest LEEF grant recipients!
