The Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) announces the resignation of Executive Director Coleen Brighton. We are thankful for her years of service to the organization and wish her the very best in her next chapter.
To ensure continued momentum in advancing our mission, the LEEF Board has appointed Shannon Darby as Interim Executive Director. Shannon currently serves as LEEF’s Director of Development and is well known across the Leander ISD community. Her previous experience in the Mason Elementary School front office, her strong relationships with educators and families, and her deep commitment to education position her to lead effectively during this transition.
“LEEF’s mission and momentum remain strong,” said LEEF Board President Devin Williamson. “With Shannon Darby stepping in as Interim Executive Director, we’re confident in our ability to continue serving students, teachers, and the entire Leander ISD community without interruption. Her leadership and connection to our work make this a seamless transition, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.”
LEEF remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting all students and staff across Leander ISD. All of LEEF’s programming—including teacher grants, student scholarships, events, and ongoing fundraising efforts—will continue without interruption.
The board will soon begin the search for LEEF’s next executive leader and is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
As always, we are grateful for the trust and support of our community, partners, and donors. Together, we remain focused on our mission: enriching the educational experience and expanding opportunities for all.
