Meet the Board – Marisa Jarmon

“Nothing is more important than giving children access to a quality education and providing teachers with the necessary resources for their very important job of cultivating the next generation.”

Name: Marisa Jarmon
Company: American Constructors
Title: Marketing Manager

Marisa is the Marketing Manager for American Constructors, a local construction manager/general contractor that has served the Central Texas area for nearly 40 years. She’s been with the company for 10 years and in her role, she manage the company’s internal and external marketing efforts in order to maintain and increase their presence in the marketplace.

She has been together with her husband, Cody, for 11 years, and they just had their first child, a baby girl, at the beginning of 2020.

Marisa’s Why: I joined the LEEF board because education has always been a core value for my family as my grandparents were both teachers. Although I didn’t follow in their footsteps, I value education just as much. Being a part of LEEF allows me to contribute to the education of our future generations in a way I never thought possible.

Fave Book: Sloppy Firsts – by Megan McCafferty

Fave Way to Spend Time: I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, traveling, cooking, napping, reading, organizing, swimming, binge-watching shows, trying new restaurants, throwing parties (especially theme parties), listening to podcasts, and puzzling (a new post-COVID hobby).

Fave Holiday: Halloween is, by far, the best holiday ever. Perhaps it stems from my obsession with the Hocus Pocus-which is my all-time favorite movie-but I love everything about it – decorating the house, dressing up in costume, carving pumpkins, handing out candy, and making themed food/cocktails. I even started hosting an annual Hocus Pocus-themed party. A couple years ago, my childhood dream came true, and I got to visit Salem, MA around Halloween and visit all the sites from the movie. It was truly bewitching.

My Company and LEEF: American Constructors has been a long-time partner of Leander ISD and LEEF, and they whole-heartedly support my involvement on the board. American Constructors has been working with LISD for 35 years and has built most of the schools in the district. Additionally, many of our employee’s children attend LISD schools. The company has always been dedicated to each school’s success long after construction has been completed. By investing in LEEF, we know that the contributions we make will be used to maximize the support and opportunities for the students and staff.
