We believe in a future where the needs of all Leander ISD students and staff are met.
The Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enriching the educational experience to support the needs of all students and staff in the Leander Independent School District. LEEF was founded in 2007 by a group of volunteers with the mission to raise funds in an effort to fill inthe funding gap left by the state and keep the LISD schools top-notch. This first funding initiative was providing Leander ISD teachers grants for their classrooms.
Over the past 17 years Leander Educational Excellence Foundation has invested more than $4.4 million dollars in both districtwide and classroom funding for all Leander ISD students and teachers. At LEEF, we believe in the power of education by building strategic partnerships with community members and business donors that promote innovation and support opportunities that prepare LISD students for anything.

LEEF is governed by a Board of Directors who commit their time to help achieve district-aligned goals and objectives for all Leander ISD students and staff.
A representative of the Leander ISD Board of Trustees, a district educator and the Leander ISD Superintendent also serve as Foundation board members to ensure alignment between the Foundation and district goals and initiatives.
Board members are nominated by the LEEF’s nominating committee and have a past history of financial, advisory or volunteer support with another nonprofit. If you are interested in serving on the board, please complete this application and the nominating committee will review. New members are voted in June, the last month of the fiscal year.
